Blueprint Technology has developed a range of small machine platforms suitable for mounting automated fixtures for medical manufacture. Bespoke jigs for semi-automated assembly are designed and then mounted on one of a family of ‘controlled frames’ fitted with a PLC and pneumatic control systems.

Using modular components Blueprint Technology can react quickly to new projects, as it is only the fixtures that need to be designed from scratch. Semi-constructed frames are held in stock for completion following a design meeting and an order from the customer. The PLC control programs are also largely modular which makes for easier maintenance and faster construction.

One such system is designed for inserting spiral spindles into MININ prosthetic fixation adhesive syringes for bone cement. This manufacturing system has more than doubled production whilst being easy to use and maintain.
